Dom's POV

I was so worried we would be late that we’ve been sitting here for over 35 minutes. It’s a nice office, clean, soft music just loud enough to be heard, comfortable furniture… I should ask them where they got this couch, neutrals colors with lots of plants and windows. Brian says it’s supposed to be soothing, calming; alleviate stress and all that. It’s not working. Brian’s been so tired and run down lately that I’m nervous *and* stressed. It’s supposed to go easier and smoother this time now that he has support and isn’t sleeping in hotels and stuff.

The Doctor said everything looked good and the fatigue should disappear relatively soon. The Heart beat was strong. It was so amazing to hear, I was nervous about the speed but the Doctor said that it was right on target. I have this ridiculous urge to lay my head on Brian’s belly as if I’d be able to hear my child. The Doctor said that he wants to get a complete prenatal panel today and schedule an ultra-sound for the next appointment.

I can’t believe how long all the labs are taking. They had Brian piss in a cup and then they started drawing blood. And they wanted *A LOT* of blood when I asked what it was all for they start spouting words like CBC and Alpha-fetoprotein. Then they handed Brian Something to drink and told him to come back in an hour, based on the face he made I don’t think he was pleased with the idea. So an hour latter we were back in the lab and they needed more blood. I was never so glad to get out of that building. I think it amused Brian that I was so uncomfortable seeing his blood. But when I think of blood I think of being hurt and I don’t ever want Brian to hurt. I’m going to take him home and cuddle up to him on the bed because despite all the blood at the lab this has been a pretty incredible day and I am a pretty lucky man to have him.
